John and Judith Taylor baptised on 4/10/1761) It is not sure if
these are related to the Bond family) James was buried on 29 March
1833 in Clavering, Essex.
The Burial Register at Clavering 179
states:
James Bond aged 72 buried 29/3/1833 James wrote a Will in which
he left his estate to his wife and seven children.

Will. At the time that he died (1833) he had 7 surviving children. He
was a carpenter and owned a freehold house called Kempit House in Arkesden,
Essex, which he had inherited from his father, Edmund (1732-1811).
However, he actually occupied a copyhold house in Clavering with Elizabeth
White.

James Bond married three times and on each occasion signed the marriage
register with an 'X'. When he was a witness at the marriage of
his sister, Sarah, he also signed with an 'X'. This suggests that he
was illiterate. However, most of his children could write very well.

Firstly, he and Martha Stones were married on 9 November 1781 in
Clavering, Essex.179
The
Marriage Register for Clavering states:
James Bond bachelor &
Martha Stones Spinster both of this parish were married by Banns on the 19/11/1781.
Both signed X
Witnesses Henry Waters signed X and Thomas Wright signed X
(In the Banns book it has that the bride to be was Ann Stones not Martha
Stones)
Martha Stones was born about 1765 and died on 20
December 1794 in Clavering, Essex.179
She was buried on 22 December 1794 in Clavering, Essex.179
The Burial Register at Clavering states:
Martha Bond died 20/12/1794 and was buried 22/12/1794
James and his first wife, Martha Stones, seemed to have no children
during the 13 years of marriage.
James Bond then married Mary Westwood in 1796 in
Clavering, Essex.179
The
Marriage Register at Clavering has this entry: James Bond
Widower and Mary Westwood Spinster both of this Parish were married
on the 11/10/1796. Both signed X
Witnesses were Haydon and TB signed ( is TB Thomas Bond?)
Mary Westwood was born about 1770 and died on 18
December 1799 in Clavering, Essex.179
The Burial Register at Clavering states: Mary Bond died 18/12/1799
and buried 22/12/1799 James
Bond and Mary Westwood had one daughter, Mary. They were only married
for three years before Mary, the wife, died, possibly in childbirth.
After the death of Mary
Westwood, James Bond remarried for the third time.
His bride was Zibbiah
Sheldrick and they were married on 25 February 1802 in Newport.194
The Marriage Register of Newport, Essex states: James Bond of
Clavering Widower and Zibbiah Sheldrick Spinster of this Parish were married
by Banns 25/2/1802. James Bond signed, Zibiah made her mark 'o'.
Witnesses: Thomas Mundie signed and Ann Gapes signed with 'X'
Zibbiah Sheldrick was born in 1769 in Clavering, Essex.4,179
She was buried on 26 June 1839 in Clavering, Essex.179
The Burial Register at Clavering states:
Zibiah Bond aged 70 buried 26/6/1839 It would thus seem that she
was about 33 years old when she married. James Bond and Zibbiah Sheldrick had the
following children:
