Second GenerationJames Adams (1775-after 1851) - son of Israel Adams (about 1850-1800) James Adams is a direct ancestor of Bill Burgar, the author of this history. James Adams was born in 1775 in Winkfield, Berkshire.10 He was baptized on 2 February 1776 in Winkfield, Berkshire.211 The Baptism Register of Winkfield Church states: James son of Israel & Anne Adams was baptised on the 2/2/1776 James Adams and Mary Pillsworth were married on 29 August 1803 in Winkfield, Berkshire.211 The Marriage Register of Winkfield Church states: James Adams, Bachelor and Mary Pillsworth, both of this Parish, were married by Banns on the 29/8/1803. Both signed the register. Witnesses were Robert Scott and James Boult (Clerk). Both signed. James Adams is mentioned as being a resident in the Ascot side of Winkfield Parish between 1813 and 1815. See List of residents in Winkfield They appear in the 1841 Census living in Sunninghill and in the 1851 Census living in Winkfield, Berkshire. In both cases his occupation was 'Bricklayer' See 1841 and 1851 Census returns. In 1839 his son James Andrew Adams was married and the Marriage Certificate again states that James Adams the father is a 'bricklayer'.
