She was born in 1821 in Sunninghill, Berkshire.^10,217 She was baptized on 21 January 1821 in Sunninghill, Berkshire.²¹⁷ The baptism Register for Sunninghill Church has the entry:

Catherine daughter of John and Mary Ann Shelley (labourer) of Sunninghill was baptised on the 21/1/1821

She died in 1854 in Chelsea, London.¹⁶ Civil Registration of Death reference is Sep 1854, Vol 1a, p 169. Chelsea London. - in Chelsea, London.¹⁶

Catherine Shelley and James Andrew Adams were married on 22 December 1839 in Sunninghill, Berkshire.^16,25  Civil Registration of marriage reference is Dec 1839, Vol 6, p 529 - in Windsor, Berkshire.¹⁶  The Civil Registration Marriage Certificate states:

James Andrew Adams, Full age, Bachelor , Bricklayer, of Sunninghill married Catherine Shelley, Under age, with consent of parents, Spinster of Sunninghill on 22nd December 1839 at Parish Church, in Parish of Sunninghill, nr Windsor, Berks.
Fathers were James Adams, Bricklayer and John Shelley, Well digger.
Signed by James Andrew and Catherine.
Witnesses John Shelley and William Hibbert signed but Mary Shelley made her mark “X”.

They appear in the 1841 and 1851 cenuses.
