The marriage of Elizabeth Peacock (1797-after1871)
The Marriage Register for St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex, has the entry:
Elizabeth Peacock married Philip Lee of White Roothing on 16.10.1820 Both signed X
Witnesses: Jonathon Foster ( signed ) & Ann Little ( signed ).
John Foster was a church official.
Ann Little was the sister of Mary Little and was born in 1786. Thus although she was 11 years older than Elizabeth Peacock and was her Aunt, she had the advantage of being able to write her name.
This again suggests a strong link between the Peacock and Little families, and more importantly that Elizabeth Peacock (1797-after1871) was really the daughter of John Peacock (1766 - ?) and Mary Little (1773-1850).
IThe close ties between all Little family and Peacock family, for over 100 years suggests that there was a special relationship. James Peacock, son of John Peacock (1813-1896) and Eliza Radley, also married a Mary Little in 1862.
