John Arthur Burgar
John Arthur Burgar has appeared in the newpapers on several occasions. In the Guardian of September 26 1947, page 5, there is the following article:
Threat to Lyme Park.
In summary, the National Trust were proposing to undertake test borings for coal in Lyme Park, Disley, near Stockport, Lancs.
Stockport Corporation's Lyme Park Committee were going to try to prevent this from happening.
"We shall support Stockport in whatever fight they might put up" Mr J.A. Burgar, chairman of Disley Rural District Council said last night, "We must protect this ground if at all possible"
