Wadset by Erasmus (blank) in Asweik, guider, tutor and umbothsman to (blank) and (blank) Christofersons, brothers german, his ‘oyeisseis’, to an honourable man Hew Sincleir of Burghe, of 1½ marks land, 12 pennies the mark, in the town of Glaitnes, parish of Nesting, for 18 ‘yopeindaills’. Because Erasmus has no seal or signet of his own he procures those of famous and discreet men: William Sincleir of Ustanes, Henrie Forrester of Lunay and Mans Hanssone of Gillisbrek. Erasmus signs with his hand at the pen led by Peter Symsoun, reader at Nesting. At Burgh in Nesting, 20 October 1581. Disposition by Magnus Magnussone in Howland, taking the burden for Anna Magnusdochter, his sister, to an honourable man Hew Sinclare of Burgh, of 1 mark land, 12 pennies the mark, of Cattfirth in the parish of Nesting. Because he cannot write Magnus draws his ‘mark usitt and wount’. At Burgh, 13 October 1582.
