Go to Parents' page

William George Webster is a direct ancestor of Bill Burgar, author of this work.

William George Webster was baptised in 179746,254  in St Andrew, Holborn, London. The Baptism Register for St Andrew, Holborn, London, states:

William George, son of William and Margaret Webster, of Baldwins Gardens, was baptised on 15/10/1797.

We believe that William Webster married Mary Blackman in about 1820, but have not found the location.

(NB. However, there is a marriage between a Mary Major and  William Webster in 1820 at St Botolphs Bishopsgate.   It is possible that we have a mistake and it is not Mary Blackman who is the wife.  This will be checked out eventually, but until then we will leave Mary Blackman as the wife).

William and Mary appear together in the 1841 and 1851 Censuses.

See 1841 and 1851 Censuses

He was a boot and shoe maker living on the outskirts of the City of London.

He died between 1851 and 1860, since he is present in the 1851 Census but is deceased when his daughter Harriet marries in 1860.

See Tree of Ancestors and Descendants of William George Webster
