Fifth GenerationJames Peacock (1837 - after 1901) - son of John Peacock (1813 - 1896) - son of John Peacock (1766 - 1829) - son of John Peacock (1738-?) - son of John Peacock (about 1710 - 1742) James Peacock was born in 1837 in Matching Green, Essex and was baptized at St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex has the entry: James, son of John & Eliza Peacock, Labourer of Matching Green, was baptised 18.6.1837 James appears in the 1841 to 1861 Census returns living with his parents. James Peacock and Mary Little were married in 1862 in Matching, Essex. Civil Marriage registration reference is as follows: Mar 1862, v 4a, p 49: in Epping, Essex16 The Marriage Register for St May the Virgin, Matching, Essex, 222 has the entry:
James Peacock, Full Age, Bachelor, Labourer, of Matching & Mary Little, Minor,
Spinster, of Matching married on 21.3.1862. Both signed X. The couple also appear in the Banns Register 251 for this church. On same day, brother George was married as follows: George Peacock, Full Age, Bachelor, Labourer, of
Matching & Charlotte Pritlove, Full Age, Spinster, of Matching married on
21.3.1862. Both signed X. John Trundle is the husband of Rachel Peacock and thus the brother-in-law of the both James and George Peacock. James and Mary had 9 children of their own and as can be seen from the later Census returns relatives and lodgers living with them.
