 Peter Peacock was baptized in 1811 in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex has the entry:

Peter, son of William & Susannah Peacock, was baptised 14.7.1811

Peter Peacock and Jane Cranway were married in 1834 in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Marriage Register for St May the Virgin, Matching, Essex, has the entry:

Peter Peacock married Jane Cranway on 15.6.1834.

Peter Pecock signed X, but Jane Cranway signed.

Witnesses: Jonathon Foster ( signed ) & Charles Saville ( signed with X).

(In the Banns Register Jane is named as Jane Crossway)

They appear with their children in the 1841 and 1851 Censuses.

He died Aged 47 in 1857 in Matching Tye, Essex.222 He was buried in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Burial Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex, has the entry:

Peter Peacock, aged 47, of Matching Tye, was buried 18.9.1857

Jane Cranway was born in 1814 in Netteswell, Essex.10

Peter Peacock and Jane Cranway had eight children.  One child, James, died in 1848.  Then Jane (Cranway) Peacock was widowed and a further 5 children died with 7 months of each other.   What a terrible thing to happen to a mother.   The table below shows the date of death and the age at death.

Mary Ann Peacock was baptized in 1837 in St Mary the Virgin, Great Parndon, Essex.250 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Great Parndon, Essex, has the entry:

Mary Ann, daughter of Peter & Jane Peacock Labourer, was baptised 19.3.1837

In the 1841 and 1851 Censuses she was living with her parents.

She died in 1857 in Matching Tye, Essex and was buried in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222  The Burial Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex, has the entry:

Mary Peacock, aged 21, of Matching Tye, was buried 3.10.1857

Frederick Peacock was baptized in 1839 in St Mary the Virgin, Great Parndon, Essex.250 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Great Parndon, Essex, has the entry:

Frederick, son of Peter & Jane Peacock Labourer, was baptised 15.6.1839

He appears with his parents in the 1841 and 1851 Censuses.

He died in 1857 in Matching Tye,  and was buried on 15 October 1857 in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Burial Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex, has the entry:

Frederick Peacock, aged 18, of Matching Tye, was buried 15.10.1857

This was just 12 days after his sister Mary Ann and a month after his father.

William Peacock was baptized in 1843 in St Mary the Virgin, Great Parndon, Essex.250 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Great Parndon, Essex, has the entry:

William, son of Peter & Jane Peacock Labourer, was baptised 10.2.1843

He was baptized for a second time in 1845 in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222,250 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex has the entry:

William, son of Peter & Jane Peacock, Labourer of Matching Tye, was baptised 30.11.1845

Peter and Jane Peacock seem to have moved back to Matching Tye from Great Parndon at this time and William was re-baptised in Matching along with his younger brother, James (see below).

He appears with his parents in the 1851 Census.

He died in 1858 in Great Parndon,and was buried in 1858 in St Mary the Virgin, Great Parndon, Essex.250 The Burial Register of St Mary the Virgin, Great Parndon, Essex, has the entry:

William Peacock, aged 15, was buried 9/5/1858

It seems that his widowed mother had moved back to Great Parndon after his father died in 1857.

James Peacock was baptized in 1845 in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex has the entry:

James, son of Peter & Jane Peacock, Labourer of Matching Tye, was baptised 30.11.1845

James died Aged 2 in 1848 in Matching Tye was buried in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Burial Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex, has the entry:

James Peacock, aged 2, of Matching Tye, was buried 15.2.1848

Jonathon Peacock was baptized in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex has the entry:

Jonathon, son of Peter & Jane Peacock, Labourer of Matching Tye, was baptised 14.1.1849

He appears with his parents in the 1851 Census.

She appears with her parents in the 1851 and with her widowed mother in the 1861 Census.

Ann died in 1857 in Matching Tye, and was buried in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Burial Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex, has the entry:

Ann Peacock, aged 4, of Matching Tye, was buried 9.11.1857

Emma Peacock was baptized in 1856 in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex has the entry:

Emma, daughter of Peter & Jane Peacock, Labourer of Matching Tye, was baptised 17.8.1856

She appears with her widowed mother in the 1861 Census and also with her newly remarried mother in the 1871 Census.
