Emma Blanksby (1831- ?) - daughter of William Blanksby (about 1800 - ?)

Emma Blanksby was baptized on 10 Jan 1830 in Wentworth Yorkshire.20    According to many Census returns she was born in Thorpe, Yorkshire.14

In the 1841 Census she was living with her father and siblings.  In 1851 she was a servant.

Emma had a son George born in 1855.

Emma Blanksby married Charles Scargill in 1858.  Civil Registration of marriage reference is 1858 Sep Vo; 9c p 420. - Sheffield.16

Charles Scargill died in  1880.  The Civil Death registration reference is Mar 1880, v 9c, p 235, Sheffield. Age 47.16 

Emma then appears as a widow in the 1881 to 1901 Census returns.

Emma's son George  is with her in the 1861 to 1881 Censuses.  Sometimes he has the surname Scargill, but in the later ones reverts to the surname Blanksby.

An Emma Scargill died in 1909.  Reference to the Civil Death registration is Mar 1908, v 9c, p313, Sheffield.  Aged 7716 

Emma Blanksby and Charles Scargill had the following children:
