DNA studies

Analysis of DNA allows one to show that two men are genetically related to some distant common-ancestor.

By this means it has been shown that the English and Shetland Burgar families are related.

Conversely, it has been shown that other Burgar families, namely the Orkney and Canadian Burgars, are not related to the English/Shetland Burgar family, or to each other.

Our DNA studies also show that the branches of the Peacock family from Matching, Essex are related.
