JaneEliza's father, Edwin Burgar, died in 1871 just prior to the Census. Her mother Harriet was now a widow. The only person with a job at this time was her brother, Andrew. It is likely that Jane would have been out at work soon after this Census.

Jane Eliza Burgar was born in 1859 and was the third
child of Edwin Burgar (1827-1871). She
settled down with Thomas Grant. We are
not sure how many children they had, but there are three shown in this
Census. We suspect that Edith Grant aged
2 years may have been the daughter of Rose Grant and therefore the
grand-daughter of Thomas and Jane Grant.
Also living with them was their nephew Horace Burgar, who was the son of Kathrine Martha Burgar (born 1872). She was in Domestic Service at the time of the birth of her child Horace and also at the time of this Census.
