Burgher in the Communicants List of 1749.

The Burgher family in the

In Clumlie

George Burgher is George (born 1680)

Margaret Williamson is his wife

Walter Burgher is his son, born about 1720

Agnes Burgher is his daughter, born about 1720

In Cour

Robert Burgher and Mary Fea appear together in the Communicants List and can be presumed to be married, and were probably born pre 1720.  They have children christened from 1754 onwards (see Baptism Registers)

The later children recorded in the Baptism Register were born in Brake.  Thus Robert must have moved from Cour to Brake sometime pre 1754.

Cullister

John Burgher is above Margaret Duncan and are assumed to be married.   In 1758 Margaret Duncan is a widow. Since there is only one Margaret Duncan in the Communicants List it is assumed that this is the one that with John Burgher.  This would mean that this John Burgar died sometime prior to 1758.   (See records of Margaret Duncan)

Garth

Andrew Burgar and Margaret Sinclair are probably married.  They did not have children after 1754 (Start of Baptism Register) so it is presumed that they must be born about 1700.  and if they had children it would be between 1735 to 1754).

Andrew would appear to be the fighting Andrew from Brake in 1731.

Hillwell

???

Lud

George Burgher (born 1699) and Helen Bairnson are married as are John Burgher and Helen Bairnson.  Adam Burgher was possibly born about 1735.  George was aready married in 1731, but John was unmarried in 1734.  Thus Adam could be the son of either George or John. One of his children is called George, so perhaps George is the most likely father.

Noss

Thomas Fea (born 1909) and Kathrine Burgher are married (pre1735) with a daughter called Clementine, possible born about that time 1735.   Clemetine went on to marry Andrew McKenzie and went on to have children from 1760 onwards.

Outvoe

Only one resident, Margaret Burgher.

Scotshall

John Burgar and Margaret Harper are together but hjave no children christened post 1754.  Thus they may be born about 1710.

St Ninian Isle

Jean Burgher is with John Lisk and has two sons with them, James and Robert born about 1725.  There is no records of these boys subsequently, so since the Island seems rather crowded, it is possibly that they moved away.
