Richard Stimson Webster (1825 - about 1872) - son of William George Webster (1779-about 1855) - son of William Webster (1773-1822)

Richard Stimson Webster  is a direct ancestor of Bill Burgar, author of this work. 

His second name appears in various guises in the different documents, Simson, Simpson, Stimpson, Stimson etc. For convenience we have always referred to him as Richard Stimson Webster.

Richard Stimson Webster was born on 21 August 1830 in Holy Trinity, Gough Sq, London.254  (We have not verified that this Is correct).

He appears with his parents in the 1841 census.

Richard Simpson Webster and Jane Eliza Jamieson were married on 19 May 1850 in St Leonards, Shoreditch, London.69,254 The Marriage Register of St Leonards, Shoreditch, states :

Richard Stimson Webster, of full age , Bachelor, Perfumer, of Green Street, and Jane Eliza Jamieson, of full age, Spinster, Servant of Green Street were married by Banns on 19th May 1850.
Both signed the register.
Fathers were: William George Webster, Shoemaker and Henry Jamieson, Smith.
Witnesses were: George Buffin, who signed, and Margaret Buffin, who made her mark.

Margaret Buffin was his sister and George Buffin was his brother-in-law.

The Civil Registration of marriage reference is Jun 1850, vol 2, p 471 - in Shoreditch, London.16

They appear in the 1851 Census where he is a Perfumer10   In the 1861 Census, Richard was an Omnibus Conductor11

Richard died about 1871.218   In the 1871 Census his wife was married (about April). However, Richard was deceased at the time of daughter Jane Eliza's marriage in March 1873.

Jane Eliza Jamieson was born in 183010,254  and died in 1888.

Richard Simpson Webster and Jane Eliza Jameison had the following children:

i.

Margaret Ann Webster was born and  baptized in 1857 in St Brides, Fleet St, London.52 The Baptism Register of St Brides, Fleet Street, states:

Margaret Ann, daughter of Richard Stimpson and Jane Eliza Webster, Perfumer of Goldsmith Row, was born on 5/7/1851 and was baptised on 27/7/1851.

She appears with her parents in the 1861 and 1871 Censuses.

Richard Stimpson Webster was born and was baptized in 1852  in St Brides, Fleet St, London.52 The Baptism Register of St Brides, Fleet Street, states:

Richard Stimson, son of Richard Stimson and Jane Eliza Webster, Perfumer, of 5 Goldsmith Row, was born on 30/7/1852 and was baptised on 21/8/1852.

He appears with his parents in the 1861 and 1871 Censuses.

Charles William Webster was born at 10 Bayhan Square, Camden Town and was baptized in 1858  in St Brides, Fleet St, London.52 The Baptism Register of St Brides, Fleet Street, states:

Charles William, son of Richard Stimson and Jane Eliza Webster, of 10 Bayham Square, Camden Town, Omnibus Conductor, of 10 Bayham Square, Camden Town, was born 30/10/1858 and was baptised 12/12/1858.

He appears with his parents in the 1861 and 1871 Censuses.

Amy Matilda Webster.

Minnie Mary Webster was born and baptized in 1863 in St Brides, Fleet St, London.52 The Baptism Register of St Brides, Fleet Street, states:

Minnie Mary, daughter of Richard Stimson and Jane Eliza Webster, Omnibus Conductor, of 3 Newberry Place, Malden Road, was born 23/9/1862 and was baptised on 26/4/1863.

She appears with her mother in the 1871 Census.

Alice Louisa Webster was born and  baptized in 1865 in St Brides, Fleet St, London.52 The baptism Register for St Brides, Fleet Street, states:

Alice Louisa, daughter of Richard Stimson and Jane Eliza Webster, Omnibus Time keeper, of 36 Malden Court, was born on 6/6/1865 and baptised on 2/10/1865.

She appears with her mother in the 1871 Census.

viii.

Rose Lydia Webster was born and baptized in 1870 in St Brides, Fleet St, London.52 The baptism Register for St Brides, Fleet Street, has the entry:

Rose Lydia, daughter of Richard Stimson and Jane Eliza Webster, Traveller, of 24, James Street, was born on 30/9/1866 and was baptised on 3/7/1870.

She does not appear with her mother in the 1871 Census, so had perhaps died prior to this.
