First Generation

Robert Rous is a direct ancestor of Bill Burgar, author of this work. 

The name Rous sometimes appears as Rose, Rouse or Ross.

Robert Rous was born about 1725.²¹⁹

We have not found the marriage of Robert Rous and Elizabeth in St Luke, Old Street.  On average there were only 4 marriages there each month, compared with about 40 deaths and 40 christenings.  This suggests that marriages were being held at either  more attractive churches or cheaper churches.

Elizabeth was born about 1725.²¹⁹

iii.	Sarah Rous was born and was baptized in 1755 in St Lukes, Old Street, London. The Parish Register of St Luke, Old Street, London has the entry: Sarah, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Rous, Rope Maker, was born on 29/8/1755 and was baptised on the 31/8/1755.
iv.	Elizabeth Rous was born and was baptized in 1758 in St Lukes, Old Street, London.84 The Parish Register of St Luke, Old Street, London has the entry: Elizabeth, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Rous, Rope Maker, was born on 10/5/1758 and was baptised on the 14/6/1758.
