Mary Ann Peacock was born in 1869 in Matching Green, Essex and She was baptized in Abbots Roothing Congregational Church, Abbots Roding, Essex.227 The Baptism Register of Abbots Roding Congregational Church, Abbots Roding, Essex, has the entry:

Mary Ann Peacock daughter of John & Mary Ann Peacock of Matching Green, was baptised 18.8.1869 (Born 24.6.1869)

Mary Ann appears in the 1871 and 1881 Census returns living with her parents.

After her mother died in 1887, she appears in the 1891 Census living with her Aunt Rachel (Peacock) Trundle.  Her younger sister, Eliza, is also staying with Aunt Rachel.

Mary Ann peacock married James Houchin in 1899.  The Marriage Register for St May the Virgin, Matching222, Essex, has the entry:

Mary Ann Peacock, 29, Spinster of Matching Green married James Houchin, 24 Bachelor Labourer of Little Laver on 3/6/1899. Both signed.
Fathers: John Peacock Labourer and Stephen Houchin Labourer.
Witnesses: Alfred Charles Johnson and Emily Jane Peacock. Both signed.

Emily Jane Peacock is another of Mary Ann's sisters.

Mary Ann and James continued to live in Matching and are buried in Matching Churchyard253 .  The inscription on their headstone in Matching Church Yard states:

Mary Ann Houchin died 10/8/1950 aged 81 years also James Houchin 26/10/1951 aged 76
