William Peacock was born
in 1811 in Matching, Essex according to various Census returns. However,
this may be incorrect, he may have been born in Harlow, but he was brought up
in Matching.
William Peacock and Ann (Angelina) Darby were married on 26 May
1839 in Matching, Essex.222
The Marriage Register for St May the Virgin, Matching, Essex, has the entry:
William Peacock, Labourer, of Newmans End, Matching married Ann Darby, minor,
of Newmans End, Matching on 26.5.1839. Both signed. Fathers: Thomas
Peacock & Witnesses: Jonathon Foster ( signed ) & George Harknett ( signed
with X ). Ann Darby's father was not entered. She may have been
illegitimate.
We have not been able to find William in the 1841 Census. However,
his wife and child are present.

See 1851 to 1871 Censuses. William died in 1878. The Civil Registration of Death reference is Dec 1878, vol 3a, p 209, Bishop
Stortford. Aged 70 .16
Ann (Darby) Peacock appears in the 1891 and 1901 Census living with her
grandson, Thomas.

years. A Civil Death registration: Mar 1910, vol 3a, p 329 - Ann Peacock
- Aged 87 - Bishops Stortford - may apply to Ann.

Little Hallingbury, was baptised. 26.2.1854 Thomas appears with
his parents in the 1861 and 1871
