James Peacock (1847- after 1901) - so of Joseph Peacock (1821 - after 1871) - son of Thomas Peacock (1783 - 1837) - son of John Peacock (1738-?) - son of John Peacock (about 1710-1742)
James Peacock was baptized in 1847 in St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex.222 The Baptism Register of St Mary the Virgin, Matching, Essex has the entry:
James , son of Joseph & Mary Peacock, Labourer of Newmans End, was baptised 24.1.1847
In the 1851 Census, he and his mother were inmates in the workhouse in Theydon Garnon, Essex. Meanwhile his father Joseph was in prison.
In1861 he was with his mother and father, but after her death in 1868 he was living with his father.
James then appears in the 1881 Census with a wife and children.
His wife is Martha, but we can not find them marrying before 1881. However, there is a marriage recorded in 1886. The Civil marriage registration reference is: Martha Beer - Joseph Peacock - Dec 1886, vol 4a, p 378, Romford. There is only one James Peacock with a wife Martha in Romford in the 1891 Census. It thus is likely that this James really married Martha Beer.
They then appear in the 1891 and 1901 Censuses with an increasing number of children.
James Peacock and Martha (Beer?) had the following children:
