Robert Mudford was born on 28 May 1814 in Limehouse, Middlesex.⁴⁷ He was baptized on 9 Oct 1814.

He died in 1897.¹²⁰The Civil Registration of Death reference is Mar 1897, v 8a, p326, Wirral. Age 83.

Robert Mudford and Sarah Ruth Marsh were married in 1838 in Lambeth London.¹⁶ Civil Registration of marriage reference is Sep 1838, v 4, p305. Lambeth - Lambeth London.¹⁶

It can be seen the Robert and Sarah Mudford moved around the country for a large portion of their lives. They were in Limehouse in 1841, where Robert like most of the family were sailcloth makers. Presumably this was a dying industry with the advent of steam, so he had to change his job and abode often. Firstly, a move to south of the river in Camberwell. They then moved up to Cheshire.

His wife, Sarah Ruth Marsh, was born in 1821 in Barking, Essex. She died in 1908.¹²⁰ The Civil Registration of Death reference is Mar 1908, v 8a, p306, Wirral. Age 87.
