Robert Charles Bond was born on 24 December 1920 at Latchmere Grove. Battersea, London.²¹⁴  Civil Registration of Births reference is Mar 1921, Vol 1d, p 950. Mother Adams. - in Wandsworth, London¹⁶

He was baptized on 19 January 1921 in Battersea, London.⁴⁰  The Baptism Register at Christchurch, Battersea states:

Robert Charles Bond son of Joseph Frederick Bond, Parcel Porter, and Annie Bond was baptised on the 19th January 1921.

He died in July 1997 in Croydon, Surrey.¹⁶  Civil Registration of Death reference is 1997 July, Register Number C73B, District Number 2251C, Page 257. Aged 76. Born 24/12/1920 - in Croydon, Surrey.¹⁶

He volunteered for the RAF and served as a gunner in Lancaster bombers. He was shot down over Libya during the North Africa Campaign. He was later based in India.

He later worked as a manager in an aluminium company.

Robert Charles Bond and Violet Joan Joyce were married on 24 December 1944.²¹⁴
