James Bond is a direct ancestors of Bill Burgar, the author of this work.

James Bond was baptized in Stanstead Mountfitchet, Essex.105 The Baptism Register at Stanstead Mountfitchett states:

James son of John and Elizabeth Bond was baptised 11/3/1781

We are not sure where or when he died but it was probably between 1851 and 1861.

James appeared in the census in 1841 in Stanstead Mountfitchet, Essex9  with his family. In the 1851 Census James was in Bottisham Village, Cambridgeshire10  and was a widow.  We have not been able to find him in the 1861 Census so it is likely that he had died pre 1861. He was a Labourer 1826-1839 and a Horse keeper in 1839, 1841.6,9,105

See 1841 and 1851 Census returns

Before she died, James Bond and Sarah Read had the two children below, although there may have been others.:

Some ten years after the death of his first wife, Sarah Read,  James Bond married Mary Anne Wallis in Stanstead Mountfitchet, Essex.105  The marriage Register at Stansted Mountfitchett has:

James Bond, Widower, and Mary Ann Wallis of this parish were married 1823.

Mary Anne Wallis was born in 1791 in Essex according to the 1841 Census in Stanstead Mountfitchet, Essex.9

With her in this Census was her husband, James Bond,  and children.  Mary Ann Wallis was known as Ann or Anna Bond in the Census return and on the birth certificates of some of her children.

See 1841 Census.

However, in the 1851 Census, James Bond was a widower.  Thus Mary Anne Wallace must have died prior to 1851.
