James Bond (1779-1845) - son of Thomas Bond (1735- ?) - son of Edmund Bond (about 1700-1769)

James Bond was baptized in 1779 in Clavering, Essex.179  The Baptism Register at the Parish Church in Clavering States:

James son of Thomas Bond and Elizabeth was baptised on 4/8/1779

He died in 1845 in Clavering, Essex.179   The Burial Register at Clavering states:

James Bond aged 66 buried 19/7/1845

He was a Labourer 1813 - 1820 when some of his children were baptised 179  and in 1841.9

James Bond and Elizabeth Martin were married on 28 October 1800 in Clavering, Essex.179  The Marriage Register at Clavering has this entry:

James Bond bachelor and Elizabeth Martin both of this Parish
Married 28/10/1800. Both signed X
Wit Edward Button (Clerk?) and Edward Hoy both signed

Elizabeth Martin was born on 20 June 1781 in Clavering, Essex.179  She was baptized on 13 July 1781 in Clavering, Essex.179

Elizabeth died on 2 August 1804 and was buried on 4 August 1804 in Clavering, Essex.179  The Burial Register at Clavering states:

Elizabeth wife of James Bond aged 23 died 2/8/1804 buried 4/8/1804

James Bond and Elizabeth Martin had the following children:

After Elizabeth Martin's death James Bond married Mary Seymour on 7 November 1805 in Clavering, Essex.179 The Marriage Register at Clavering has this entry:

James Bond Widower and Mary Seymour spinster both of this parish
Married 7/11/1805. Both signed with X
Witnesses: Edward Button signed, and James Seymour signed X

Mary Seymour was born in 1785.179  She was buried on 20 June 1830 in Clavering, Essex.179  The Burial Register at Clavering states:

Mary Bond aged 45 buried 20/6/1830

James Bond and Mary Seymour had the following children:

Adam Bond was born on 1 March 1810 in Clavering, Essex.179  He was baptized on 18 December 1810 in Clavering, Essex.179  The Baptism Register at Clavering has the entry:

Adam son of James Bond and Mary born 1/3/1810 was baptised on 18/12/1810

Allan Bond was baptized on 19 May 1816 in Clavering, Essex.179  The Baptism Register at Clavering has the entry:

Allan son of James and Mary Bond Harlings Green,Clavering Labourer was baptised on 19/5/1816

John Bond was was baptized on 9 January 1820 in Clavering, Essex.179 The Baptism Register at Clavering has the entry:

John son of James and Mary Bond Clavering Labourer was baptised on 9/1/1820

John died in 1821 in Clavering, Essex.179   The Burial Register at Clavering states:

John Bond aged 2 years 6 months buried 23/12/1821

Emma Bond was born in 1822.13   She appears in the 1841 Census with her father and stepmother, Hannah (Coxall) Bond.  After her father dies in 1845, she continues to live with her stepmother and is seen with her in the 1851 Census.

She appeared in the 1881 Census as an inmate in the Union Workhouse Saffron Walden.13 She died in 1898 in Saffron Walden Reg. District.16  Emma was classified as an Imbecile.

Sarah Bond was born in 1826.9 She was baptized on 10 May 1840 in Clavering, Essex.179

She was living with Hannah (Coxall) Bond and James Bond in 1841. Baptism suggests that she is daughter of James and Mary Seymour.

James Bond and Hannah Coxall were married on 19 July 1836 in Clavering, Essex.179  The Marriage Register at Clavering has this entry:


James Bond Widower of this Parish and Hannah Coxall Spinster of Brent Pelham were married by Banns on 19/7/1836. Both signed X
Witnesses: John Coxall and Hannah Bradford, both signed

Hannah Coxall was born in 1795 in Stocking Pelham.10 She was baptized on 23 August 1795 in Brent Pelham 177  but was baptised as Joanna Coxall.

James and Hannah Coxall appear in the 1841 Census with James two youngest daughters by his previous marriage, as well as his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Coxall.

After the death of her husband, James, she is in the 1851 Census living with her sister and stepdaughter, Emma Bond.

Her sister, Elizabeth Coxall was also baptised in Brent Pelham, Hertfordshire.
