George Bond (1887-?) - son of James Bond (1834-1909) - son of James Bond (1781-about 1855) - son of John Bond (1734-1823) - son of Edmund Bond (about 1700-1769)
George Bond, born 12th December 1887, son of James and Emma Bond, 7 Orville Road, Battersea, Labourer , was baptised on the 25th March 1891 St Mary, Battersea.
He started work with the railway when he was about 13 years old. The Great Western Railway has a series of Registers. In the Register of appointed staff -No5 London Division - 1896-1906 there is the following extract:
G Bond, 34954 Date of Entering service 2.10.1902. Cart Boy
at Kensington, Addison Road.
George Bond, 34954 Born 12.12.1887. Date
of Entering service 2.10.1902
(“No Trace” s probably means that he left the service suddenly ).
George Bond and Louisa S A Ward were married in 1915 in Wandsworth, London. Civil Registration of marriage reference is Jun 1915, Vol 1d, p 1801. - in Wandsworth, London.16
