Descendants of Edmund Bond (about 1700- 1769)
Third GenerationJonathon Bond (1784-1858) - son of John Bond (1734-1823) - son of Edmund Bond (about 1700-1769) Jonathon (or John) Bond was baptized in Stanstead Mountfitchet, Essex.105 The Baptism Register at Stanstead Mountfitchett states: Jonathon son of John and Elizabeth Bond was baptised 13/6/1784 He appeared in the census in 1841 in Stanstead Mountfitchet, Essex9 and then in the census in 1851 in Street, Stansted Mountfitchet.10 He was buried 1858 in Stanstead Mountfitchet, Essex.105 The Burial Register of Stanstead Mountfitchett has the entry: John Bond was buried 8/3/1858 aged 74 He was thus born in 1784
which agrees with his baptism date. Jonathon Bond and Catherine Saunders were married in 1810 in Stanstead Mountfitchett, Essex.105 The Marriage Register at Stanstead Mountfitchett states: John Bond
and Catherine Saunders both of this Parish were married by banns 1/12/1810. That John Bond senior signed with an X is at variance with his signing registers on other occasions. John appears in the 1841 and 1851 Cenusus Returns with his wife.
She is recorded by the Stanstead Congregational Church as dying on the 27/11/1867. 181 She appeared in the census in 1841, 1851 and 1861 in Stanstead Mountfitchet, Essex. 9,10 11 In the latter Censuses she was listed as a broker.
In the minutes of the church (reference D/NC/2/1/1 at the Essex Record Office) it has: Catherine Bond was proposed for communion at church meeting on 4/1/1822. In Reference D/NC/2/1/2 it has: Catherine Bond of Stanstead was admitted as member on 30/4/1824. In document D/NC/2/1/1 is a list of members which includes: Catherine Bond of Stanstead admitted 30/4/1824, deceased 27/11/1867. Also in the list is: Mrs Bond of Stanstead was admitted at date unknown and deceased 1866. We are not sure who this person is. |
