First Generation

William Blanksby was born baptised in 1801 in Baslow, Derbyshire.

The Baptism Register for Baslow Church has the entry:

William son of Jonathon Blanksby was baptised ion 1/2/1801.

William Blanksby and Mary Ingram were married on 9 Nov 1828 in St Mary's Ecclesfield, Sheffield.²⁰

They had various children who appear in the 1841 Census with their father, but their mother, Mary, is not with them.

William has not been found in the 1851 Census or in the Civil Registration of Deaths.

 Mary Ingram was born about 1805.⁷

It is presumed that she had died prior to 1841.   There is a Civil Registration of Death reference for a Mary Blanksby in June 1940, Vol 22, p 392. Sheffield.¹⁶  This may refer to the above Mary. 

William Blanksby and Mary Ingram had the following children:

i.	Eliza Blanksby was born in 1828.9
ii.	Emma Blanksby
iii.	Ann Blanksby was born in 1831.9  She appears as a witness at the wedding of her sister Harriet with Edwin Burgar.  However, there is a reference to an Ann Blanksby marrying in 1851.  Civil Registration of marriage reference is Mar 1851, v 22, p 484, Sheffield.16 The spouse may be Thomas Garrison or Nicholas Howe or Henry Rhodes.  Thus it is unclear if there are two Ann Blanksby.
