For some reason, Joseph Henry, is sent to a school in Liverpool.

See 1881 Census

Most of the inmates came from Middlesex, London. It is possible that this merely means London in general.

Holy Trinity Industrial School appears to be one of those schools that was set up in the late 1800s to house and to train young children who were orphans or had been abandoned. The intention was to train them for a trade that would enable them to be self-sufficient once they left the Institution. Often these schools had brass bands which made it easy for inmates to join the army as bandsmen.  Joseph was a cornet player.  I have been told that he died of cancer of the lips. 130

It is possible that Joseph Henry had behavioural problems that resulted in his being sent away from London. Further work is being carried out to find out more about the reasons for Joseph being in Liverpool.

Joseph Henry's daughter, Winnifred (1906-1999), has told us that Joseph lived with Netto relations in Liverpool while he attended a Choir school attached to the cathedral.130  If this is true, then it throws a different light onto the reasons for him going to Liverpool.  Winnie also said that the family were said to be real mongrels, with Jewish blood coming from the Netto family.  David Netto, one of Rachel Netto's relatives was in Liverpool at this time.

Joseph Henry eventually joined the army and served, we are told, in the 6th and 8th Hussars. He was away from home for 4 years during the Boer War. 130

The Guardian of the 23rd February 1959 states that she died on the 21st February 1959 at Mildenhall,  the wife of Joseph Henry Burgar.

Elizabeth was Irish by birth and married Joseph Henry Burgar when he was stationed in the Curragh. While he was away for 4 years during the Boer war, she lived with her mother-in-law, Rachel Burgar, in Bells Garden Road, Peckham. 130
